I have been a public shelter volunteer for several years and I am aware that most people who adopt small animals have limited knowledge regarding proper care. To help fill this knowledge gap, I identified the primary needs of both adopters and volunteers as well as a platform to house this information in a way that is easily accessible and shareable. Smalls emerged as a prototype for an open platform, offering educational materials, resources, and a supportive network to address these needs effectively.
This non-profit's primary focus is providing information for volunteers and adopters and areas where their interests intersect. This information can include anything from nail-trimming tutorials to marketing materials for adoption events. The list goes on with the ways a nonprofit of this type can flex and grow with demand. This case study is a summation of my concept.
